Outback Gaming Hub began in 2015 when two lifelong friends, Jack Reynolds and Emma Chen, recognized a gap in Australia's gaming scene. Both passionate gamers who had competed internationally, they returned to Sydney after years abroad and found that local gaming facilities lacked the professional-grade equipment and community atmosphere they had experienced overseas.
Starting with just 10 computers in a small warehouse in Surry Hills, Jack and Emma created a space where competitive and casual gamers alike could experience top-tier gaming setups. What made their approach unique was their commitment to sustainability - using recycled materials for furniture, energy-efficient systems, and creating a space that blended Australia's natural elements with cutting-edge technology.
Word spread quickly, and within six months, they had expanded to 30 stations. By 2018, Outback Gaming Hub had become a cornerstone of Sydney's esports community, hosting regional tournaments and fostering local talent. In 2020, despite pandemic challenges, they pivoted to include remote coaching services and expanded their physical space once restrictions lifted.
Today, Outback Gaming Hub operates from our 500-square-meter facility in Sydney with additional locations in Melbourne and Brisbane. We've grown from a passion project to Australia's premier gaming destination, but our core mission remains unchanged: providing extraordinary gaming experiences in a community-focused, sustainable environment.
